To connect a text bot to Telegram to automate communication with customers on your behalf, follow the steps described below.
- Log in to personal account.
- Create a new script or select the desired one from the previously created ones.
- Create a text bot.
- Set up Telegram integration.
- Subscribe to Telegram Premium.
- Open Telegram on your device.
- Go to the Settings section.
- Go to Telegram for Business → Chatbots.
- Enter the name of the chatbot that you have connected to the platform.
- Select the chats from the list that the bot will have access to.
- Allow the bot to reply to messages. The bot will start responding in Telegram to private messages on your behalf.
Disable the bot if you want to reply to the message in person. Otherwise, the bot will start reacting to your messages, which will lead to the fact that it will communicate with itself.
The bot is not supported:
- Replay buttons;
- Web-app;
- Request a phone number and geolocation;
- Inline buttons are supported with limitations. Their use is possible, but only if properly configured in accordance with the integration instructions. For more information about the setup, see the article Configuring inline action buttons in Telegram.
